Dr. Howard Routman Board Certified Orthopedic Surgeon

Dr. Howard D. Routman is a Board Certified Fellowship trained Orthopaedic Surgeon specializing in Shoulder Reconstruction. Dr. Routman has been a South Florida resident since 1980, and is an active member of our community.

Dr. Routman graduated from Nova-Southeastern University with the Highest Honors. He served his Internship at the Doctors Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. He completed his Residency at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. Dr. Routman spent an additional year as a Fellow at the prestigious Hughston Sports Medicine Foundation studying Shoulder Reconstruction. Since that time, Dr. Routman has been honored to be on the teaching faculty of numerous courses, instructing on advanced shoulder reconstructive techniques. He also has been involved in the investigation and development of shoulder prosthetic implants both in the USA and Europe.

He is currently on the Board of Directors of the Greater Palm Beach Area Chapter of the American Red Cross and serves on the regulatory boards of local hospitals. As a Clinical Assistant Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at nearby Nova-Southeastern University, he is involved in teaching young doctors the science and art of medicine. Dr. Routman has participated in many community lectures. He has appeared on local television and radio programs to discuss shoulder disorders.

In addition to the non-surgical management of shoulder and orthopaedic disorders, Dr. Routman commonly performs Total Shoulder Replacement, Outpatient Arthroscopic Shoulder Repair, and redo shoulder surgery. Dr. Routman is one of South Florida's leading shoulder specialists, providing care for Palm Beach and surrounding counties.

Dr. Routman is on staff at JFK Medical Center, Columbia Hospital, Jupiter Medical Center, and the Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center.
